Body Building Tips
Bodybuilding is a sport where you get better, set goals and improve. Every time a bodybuilder (whether male or female) sets foot in the gym, the goal is to acquire more muscle and look better than the last time. However, there are certain precautions and measures one should take, to ensure the workout and diet is appropriate. Given below are some tips on bodybuilding.
- The most basic tip for bodybuilding is to wear suitable clothing. The clothes you wear in the gym should make you comfortable for your safe and easy movements. The biggest problem among many bodybuilders is that they do not cover up. Don’t take the wind out of someone’s sails with the smell from your armpits. Wear a t-shirt at least.
- Drink ample of water before, during the course and after every exercise. This is a very good habit to follow.
- Use appropriate lifting techniques on each rep of each exercise. Using improper lifting forms or techniques could act as an obstacle towards your positive progress. Moreover, it could even tear or pull your muscles, damage ligaments and tendons or even break your bones. Always watch what you are doing.
- The basic principle followed for any kind of exercise is to warm up properly, following the same when you lift weights. This can be done on a treadmill or stationary bike for 5-10 minutes. After the cardio warm-up, do the warm up with the weights. For this take approximately 40% of the weights that would be used in the first exercise for the first muscle group and carry out a sets of 10-12 reps each. Make sure you warm up every muscle group only once.
- Avoid loading the bar with too many weights, as this will make you prone to injuries. Work with the rep range.
- Use negative reps. If you are dropping weights, you should at least lower the weight at a 2-4 count. This is said to be one of the most effective techniques for stimulating muscle growth.
- Focus and concentration is the key to almost every exercise regime. If you are preoccupied or distracted while exercising, you are bound to get hurt. Proper focus will help you use good form and lift more weight. Thus, resulting in better fat loss and muscle growth.
- Always plan your exercise regime. Don’t just randomly choose any exercise. There are times when bodybuilders carry out exercises but totally forget a certain body part like the shoulders, as they don’t have a plan. Always know what you are doing. Keep a log and write down the weights, reps and sets you used during exercise.
